Steve Stanczyk (the artist behind some nice public and private murals) will be instructing a 20th Century Art History and Studio Painting Course course at The Reach Museum & Gallery (32388 Veterans Way, Abbotsford, BC). The course will take place over 4 Saturdays: November 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2009, from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
Here is a description of the course from Steve’s website.
“[The course] Combines both art history and studio painting, highlighting significant artists and art movements of the last century, exploring the different painting styles and techniques that make each artist and movement important and inspiring.”
“Each class begins with a 20 minute powerpoint lecture followed by a painting session. Participants are encouraged to explore the painting styles discussed in the lecture, learn the fundamental basics of painting, try new techniques and mediums and hopefully discover their own creative voice, exploring new ideas.”
“For people who are both beginning or experienced in painting.”1
